After 2 years Cinema Secrets Raises Prices

Cinema Secrets has not raised any prices on Comsetics for amost 2 years now. And now we are forced to raise prices on some cosmetic items.

The price change is effective March 15th, 2005 and includes most of of the Cosmetic items. Accessories, Brushes, and most tools are not affected.

The new cosmetic pricing reflects an increase in petroleum based products and raw materials. Unfortunately, protroleum based prouucts not only include foundations and other products; it includes most all containers as well.

Cinema Secrets still proves to be the best econimically based foundation in the industry. Its high pigmentation and ability to cover makes for a foundation that allows only a small amount to acheive perfection! We are still #1

We are opffering some specials that can only be taken by calling Customer Service at 1-800-808-0579 (outside California only) or 818-846-0579. These specials can be explained to you when you call.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support with the Cinema Secrets family!

New Eyeliner and Lip Pencils

We have been working for some time on formulas for a new line of pencils for Cinema Secrets. In the past, we have offered you a good pencil, but in a effort to provide a better, higher quality product we are formulating and designing our new "Ultimate Pencil".

The process of formulating a pencil is very complicated. Let's face it, you can't just start mixing a variety of color, waxes, conditioners with a little wood in a bowl and a pencil "pop" out. (Wish it was that easy) First we work with the formula. Cinema Secrets basic qualification is to have a pencil formula that glides on to the lips without pulling the skin, will last through the day (or at least 4 cups of coffee), and be a color that you like.

Formula after formula has been developed and tested, we are getting close, and are starting of the color ranges, and the basic pencil design. If you have any special colors that you would like to see in the ranges of color please send a sample of the pencil to Cinema Secrets, attention: Maurice. If it is a color we use, we will replace it with 12 of our new pencils when they are hopefully available in mid 2005!

New Mascara Formula!!!

We have reformulated our Ultimate Mascara! The new formulation is called, "Flex-Formula". It is possibly the best mascara formula available on the market.

Late in 2002, we started on a mission to evaluate our mascara formula and reformulate it based on a study we did with people. We found out that people want a mascara that will go on easy, wear all day, not clump, will not flake, and will gently lengthen the lash. After adding a couple of requirements we felt were necessary, we ended up with "Ultimate Mascara - Flex Formula"

Flex Formula does the following:

WATER RESISTANT

Cinema Secrets new mascara is completely waterproof. Being waterproof makes this new formulation “perspiration proof” as well. Being waterproof also adds to the quality of being smudge proof.

LENGTHENS

In the past formulations for Mascaras having fibers in the formula; the fibers are added to the base formula. The Cinema Secrets formulations fibers are micro encapsulated in a bonding ingredient (the ingredient that holds the formula to the lash) that will NOT allow the fibers (or the mascara) to flake or clump. As a result, this mascara can be worn by Contact Lens wearers and users still have a lengthening mascara that lengthens the smallest lash. One coat applied over another coat adds incredible length!

CONDITIONS

The hair on the eyelid, even though we call it a lash, is still a hair and needs conditioning just like the hair on your head. Rich conditioners condition the lash and do not effect any of the formulation. This is a premier quality in a mascara; most mascara conditioners will not allow drying, bonding and long lasting qualities that all mascara should have.

EXCELLENT WEARING

Cinema Secrets new mascara, do not irritate the eyes, and is not a mascara that is heavy. Its bonding properties to the lash, keep it on the lash, and not on the face; or especially in the eye.

NO FLAKING

Cinema Secrets Flex Formula Mascara will not flake. Our new flex formula and the bonding ingredients will not allow for flaking. This also helps in the water resistance.

NEW SCULPT AS IT DRIES FORMULA

As the mascara dries (very quickly) it will gently curl the lash. This happens because the bonding ingredients adhere to the lash as the mascara dries, it naturally curls the lash.

600 Series...

What’s it all about?

Some expert retailer once said, “The more I understand about my products, the more money I make”.

As much as Cinema Secrets would like to take credit for the concept of neutralizing and correcting, we cannot. That concept belongs to the many veteran makeup artist that endured with color film, color television, and the many technical advancements that occurred in the 40’s, and 50’s. However, Cinema Secrets was the first to use the professional concept color correction and apply it to the advancement of society makeup. For years, many “over-the-counter” cosmetic companies sold products that were used to cover blemishes, and other skin discolorations. They were mostly higher pigmented, light tonal value colors, that highlighted under the eye, and attempted to “cover” the dark circles, redness, and other colors that were in the skin, under the eye.

In order to fully understand what the 600 Series actually does, we need to understand the basic principles in color, and how certain colors will “work for us” by removing problem colors within, or on, the skin.

In the chart about you will notice how using a green filter will eliminate the unwanted redness from the light. That concept is very simple. Choosing the correct correction color is actually more simple. You just have to remember what colors eliminate what colors.

RED <> GREEN
ORANGE <> BLUE
PINK <> BROWN

As you can see by the 3 pairs of words above, red and green, blue and orange, and pink and brown all “cancel” each other out. Another words, someone that had a little blueness under the eyes would use a color that had a little orange in the undertones to “correct or neutralize” the blueness. Someone with a reddish color blemish on the face would use a color that had a little green-yellow in the color. Now remember, you would never use a pure red, green, blue or orange color to neutralize. You would use a skin tone color, that had that particular correction undertone color for Cinema Secrets answers these correction questions with a full range of colors specifically formulated by color and formulation to be used as correctors and neutralizers. By adding a small amount of red neutralizer to a foundation, you will reduce the amount of red in the foundation. By adding a small amount over a red area of the skin, you will eliminate the red area. Practice this by getting a very small amount of 601-18 and adding it over a red area on your skin (like your knuckles). Adding just enough red neutralizer to eliminate the red from “the reflected light”, see how the red disappears leaving the same skin tone as the rest of the unaffected area of your knuckle. Note also if you add too much red neutralizer, you will not only stop the transmission of red light but change the skin tone color to the color of the red neutralizer. This obviously means you have used too much red neutralizer. If you are correcting directly on the skin, remember to always powder after correcting and before the application of the foundation color. This eliminates the corrector color and foundation color from mixing.

Cinema Secrets offers the following colors in .50oz., .25oz, and some colors are available in the #1, and #2 Foundation Corrector Palettes.
